LEWISBURG- The David Yarid Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Emily McClure, a 2026 graduate of Greenbrier East High School. Emily plans to attend West Virginia University in the fall. She received her award from Tim Holbrook and Kristi during a ceremony held at Eastern Greenbrier Middle School.
The David E. Yarid Scholarship Fund was established in 1989 to honor the memory of David Yarid, a young businessman in the prime of his life. The scholarship also honors the Yarid family, who have been prominent in the local business community for many years.
The scholarship is for $500 each year for four years to a graduating senior at Greenbrier East High School who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the field of business and who plans to pursue a college education in this field. The faculty of the business department of Greenbrier East High School selects the recipient.
