Lewisburg, W.Va. (WVDN) — This summer, Experience Greenbrier Valley (EGV) is excited to welcome two interns to the staff, Mary Colombo and Caroline Dotson.
Colombo will engage with our partners to gather recent updates, local stories and first-hand interviews for inclusion on EGV’s website greenbrierwv.com. She will further our outreach with destination optimization, work on the website and content development and help with email marketing and social media. Colombo is a Junior at WVU studying marketing and arts entrepreneurship. She enjoys working on projects that involve creativity, communication and connecting with people. In her free time, she loves going to flea markets and thrift stores, as well as spending time outdoors with friends. This summer, she is excited to learn new skills, gain real-world experience, and work alongside the EGV team.
“It’s always special when you’re able to introduce the next generation to the tourism industry,” said Kara D. Dense, president and CEO of EGV. “It’s wonderful to be able to provide this opportunity for two talented young women to take their skills from the classroom and apply them in a real-world setting.
Dotson’s primary focus is on assisting in building EGV’s video content. She will be stopping by shops, restaurants and attractions to gather vertical video. Dotson is a Lewisburg native and an upcoming sophomore at West Virginia University pursuing a degree in Marketing with a minor in Real Estate. She’s excited to connect with new people while working in content creation, highlighting everything the Greenbrier Valley has to offer. Being from the Greenbrier Valley, she is especially excited to share and explore the community she’s grown up in.
