LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — The Greenbrier County Commission has released its agenda for its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The meeting will be called to order at 10 a.m. in Room 203 of the new addition at the Greenbrier County Courthouse, located at 912 Court St. N. For community members unable to attend in person, a live stream will be broadcast on the courthouse’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Meeting Order and Regular Business
The session will open with an invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the official call to order.
Initial regular business will include reviewing and approving the minutes from the commission’s previous regular meeting held June 9, 2026. Mary Ingles, the fiduciary supervisor, will present the settlements of estates for Peggy Oraopel Hylton, Thomas Hull Long, William Oliver Burns and Duane Allen Sykes. County Assessor Joe Darnell will also present matters regarding exonerations, county splits and consolidations.
Financial Approvals
County Clerk Robin McCullough is scheduled to present several financial matters for commission approval, including an arts and recreation transfer, general budget revisions, line item transfers and directives to pay outstanding bills.
New Business
The commission will consider eight items under new business:
Meadow River Trail: Consideration of proposals regarding the mowing and trimming of the Meadow River Trail; Greenbrier State Forest Trails: a funding request for the Greenbrier State Forest Trails Project under a Tax Increment Financing initiative; Sheriff’s Department Grant: a Victims of Crime Act grant application and corresponding resolution for the county sheriff’s department; Arts and Recreation Adjustments: a corrected form on arts and recreation distribution allocations for the 2026-2027 grant year; Board Assignments: the 2026 Greenbrier County Board appointments and reappointments; Opioid Litigation: an official recommendation from legal counsel to withdraw the county’s prior consent to participate in the Tris Master Litigation Agreement regarding ongoing opioid litigation; Zoning Ordinance: scheduling a public hearing date to address the updated county zoning ordinance; and Occupancy Tax Increase: initiating discussions regarding an increase in the current county occupancy tax rate.

Before adjournment, county officials will highlight an upcoming community event: a mural unveiling scheduled for noon Monday, June 29.
