LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier Humane Society is excited to announce its participation in Burnouts for a Cause, a day-long community event taking place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Covington Moose Park in Covington, Virginia.

The event will run from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities including a car show, burnout competition, live entertainment, food vendors, raffles, auctions, awards, and family-friendly fun.

As part of the event, the Greenbrier Humane Society will host an adoption event from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., giving attendees the opportunity to meet adoptable animals looking for loving homes. Staff and volunteers will also be on hand throughout the day to provide information about the shelter’s programs and services, answer questions about adoption and volunteering, and offer donation-based merchandise to support the animals in the organization’s care.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of an event that brings communities together while supporting animal welfare,” said Logan Morgan, Community Liaison for the Greenbrier Humane Society. “Events like Burnouts for a Cause not only help raise much-needed funds, but they also allow us to connect with new supporters, educate the public about our mission, and showcase some of the wonderful animals waiting for homes.”

A portion of the proceeds from Burnouts for a Cause will be divided among three regional animal welfare organizations: Greenbrier Humane Society, Alleghany Humane Society, and Rockbridge SPCA.

The Greenbrier Humane Society encourages animal lovers, car enthusiasts, and community members from across the region to attend and support this unique event.

For more information about the Greenbrier Humane Society, adoption opportunities, volunteering, or ways to support the shelter, visit the Greenbrier Humane Society’s social media pages or contact the shelter at 304-645-4775.
