Two Greenbrier County Ceos groups recently merged into one club. Progressive Ceos joined the members of TriCity. Since the members of both clubs are from the Lewisburg, Fairlea, and Ronceverte areas, they decided to retain the TriCity name.

At the May 12, 2026 meeting held at the Ronceverte Baptist Church, the group studied the history of the salt industry in the Kanawha Valley and the part West Virginia played in World War II. Melissa Gosik told about the origins of salt production in the 1800’s and the continued operation of the Dickinson Salt Works in Maldin, WV.

Each member received a jar of Dickinson Finishing Salt. Patty Gray related West Virginia’s role in training soldiers for WW II. Camp Dawson in Preston County, the Potomac Highlands, and Allegheny Mountains were used for preparation to fight in mountainous terrain and included rock climbing at Seneca Rocks. The Greenbrier Resort served as a detention center for German, Italian, and Japanese diplomats. It later became Ashford General Hospital where 24,000 injured soldiers were treated.

In the business meeting, members voted to make a donation to the 2026 Greenbrier County 4-H Camp. Plans were made to attend Achievement Day on May 19 at the WVU Building at the WV State Fair.

Greenbrier County Ceos welcome new members. Clubs are located in several areas around the county. If interested, contact the WVU Extension Office by calling 304-647-7408.
