LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall invites students ages 12 and older to explore the timeless craft of leatherworking in Custom Leather Cell Phone Cases, an Appalachian Heritage workshop led by instructor Luke Davis on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With a maximum class size of eight, participants will enjoy personalized instruction and a relaxed, creative environment.
This practical and engaging workshop teaches students how to design and craft a custom leather cell phone case that slides securely onto a belt—perfect for anyone tired of juggling their phone or searching for a safe place to set it down. Using easy‑to‑learn techniques and a wide selection of tools provided by the instructor, participants will create a one‑of‑a‑kind holder tailored to their own phone and personal style.
Appropriate for beginners and returning leatherworkers alike, the class emphasizes the beauty, durability, and long‑lasting value of handcrafted leather goods. Students will leave with a functional piece they can use every day—one built to last a lifetime.
The cost for the workshop is $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers.
