“Each year, the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta brings incredible energy to our Capital City—creating memories for residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “As we celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, we’re excited to welcome folks together for a Regatta weekend filled with music, celebration, and unforgettable moments across Charleston.”

In addition to live music, the Regatta will feature a July 4th fireworks celebration launched from three locations, creating an expanded viewing experience from the State Capitol Complex to Magic Island. This special presentation has been made possible through the generosity of a group of local anonymous donors whose support helped bring this experience to life. The weekend will also include the return of the WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals Drone Show on Sunday, July 5 – lighting up the night sky above Haddad Riverfront Park.

“The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta continues to grow because of the partnerships, sponsors, volunteers, and community support that make it possible,” said Regatta Commission Chair Andy Richardson. We’re excited to welcome everyone back for a memorable 2026 celebration.”

The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta will take place July 2-5, 2026, in Downtown Charleston. For more information,charlestonregatta.com.
