HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. (WVDN) — On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Troopers J.D. Darrah, Spessert, and Mason responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 3400 block of Back Creek Valley Road in Berkeley County.

While en route, troopers were advised that three occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and one had been ejected. Upon arrival, officers located a white Buick Verano that had traveled over an embankment and came to rest in standing water off the roadway.

The driver was identified as a 17-year-old male from Martinsburg. The passengers were identified as Gracie Estes, 19, of Hedgesville; Nicolas Dillard, 18, of Hedgesville; and Logan Darlington, 20, of Martinsburg.

Darlington was transported to Berkeley Medical Center for treatment. The remaining three occupants were airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Alcohol use is suspected to be a contributing factor in the incident.

This crash is still under investigation.
