BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVDN) – Senator Jim Justice visited New River Gorge Regional Development Authority and presented a check for $3,200,000 to fund Meadow River Corridor improvements:

“I’ll tell you just this: today is a great day for the New River Gorge region and for all of West Virginia. When folks come to see these mountains, rivers, and trails, they’ll go back home knowing there’s no place on earth like West Virginia. I was proud to push for this funding in our recent appropriations package because, at the end of the day, it’s all about giving our people more opportunities. Investing in our world-class outdoor recreation so we can welcome even more visitors to enjoy the beauty our state has to offer is always worth it,” said Senator Jim Justice.

BACKGROUND:

  • Senator Justice successfully secured over $3 million in funding for the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority in the recent appropriations package.
  • While Governor, Senator Justice advocated for the continued growth and investment in the New River Gorge National Park; this is a natural continuation of his priorities while Governor.
