The suspect in the armed bank robbery at Summit Community Bank in Rupert on Wednesday has been arrested.
On Thursday, July 15, at approximately 9:52 a.m., Cpl. J.W. Gilkeson with the Rainelle detachment of the West Virginia State Police received a tip that the male suspect was seen in the Princeton Walmart.
With assistance from officers with the Princeton detachment and Walmart Loss Prevention, the male was identified as Gary Lee Toler, 65, of Oceana, WV. It was also discovered that he was traveling in a maroon Pontiac Montana van with a female.
A short time later a member of the Princeton Police Department located the van. Both Toler and the female were taken into custody for questioning.
Toler has been charged with armed robbery and grand larceny. He is awaiting arraignment in Southern Regional Jail. The female has not been charged at this time. The status of this investigation remains ongoing and active.
