FRANKFORD W.Va. (WVDN) – The Ladies of the Henning Church of God held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 14, in the church fellowship hall. Carole Spencer presided, and Marty Burns led in prayer. The ladies provided the following report:
Donna Scott brought us our devotion, “Letting Your Leaves Fall.” In the fall, leaves dance across the driveway. We watch the green leaves turn colors and fall. It makes us think and observe nature. Don’t hold onto unnecessary weight. (Ephesians 4:31-32) Get rid of all anger, rage, bitterness, and replace them with compassion, kindness and forgiveness. Christ forgave us; we need to forgive others. Get rid of guilt and negativity. Read God’s word. Let go of the past. God will show us when we ask. (Isaiah 43:18-19) What are you holding onto? Are decayed leaves holding you? Let go of anything that will hinder your relationship with God.
Pauline Perkins read last month’s minutes.
Carole thanked members for another successful yard sale. The Pastor Appreciation Dinner was held on October 19. The group served the Maxwelton Ruritans on October 23. Trunk or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31, in the fellowship hall from 6-8 p.m. at the church. The group discussed hiring someone to paint the fellowship hall. The group will be donating food to the Renick and Williamsburg food pantries in December again this year. The Christmas dinner for the group will be held on December 2.
The next meeting will be on November 11, and Carole Spencer dismissed in prayer.
