A home in Rupert has been deemed a total loss after a fire broke out on Wednesday, June 16.
According to Rusty Andrews, firefighter with the Rupert Volunteer Fire Department, a call came in around 4 a.m. regarding a grease fire at a home on 11th Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the home fully engulfed.
Members of the Rainelle, Quinwood, Smoot, Clintonville and Alderson Fire Departments arrived to help put out the flames, which took most of the day, Andrews noted.
The reason the fire took so long to put out is due to four different roof lines being on the house, Andrews stated. However, everyone was able to get out of the home safely.
Names of those living in the home are not being released at this time.
A portion of Rt. 60 had to be closed most of the morning to allow for water lines to be run and for fire trucks to arrive.
