James Monroe High School Senior Fayth Laxton is sponsoring an aid drive to help the homeless.
Laxton notes that there are almost 600,000 homeless people in the United States, whose numbers continue to grow as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to have an impact on our country.
Laxton is gathering commonly needed items to donate to charity groups that assist homeless people. These items include socks, peanut butter, toothbrushes, soap, can openers, and blankets.
Students wishing to help can bring these items to school. Community members interested in assisting with this effort can contact Dr. Scott Womack at swomack@k12.wv.us or via phone at 304-753-5182.
