John “Jay” Talbott, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House.
Jay served his Savior as an ordained minister from his mid-twenties. He founded and served as Pastor of small churches across the country. He was very passionate about missionary and outreach work, in past years working with Fundamental Broadcasting Network of Summersville, WV, and New Bern, NC.
In addition to his parents, Bill and Virginia Talbott, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacqueline Talbott; and his beloved daughter, Joyce Ann Talbott.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Billy Ray Talbott (Martha) of Albuquerque, NM, and Wayne Talbott (Sheila) of Lewisburg, WV; sister, Twila Patton (Corby) of Sam Black Church, WV; sons, James Talbott (Laura) of Spanaway, WA, Joseph Talbott (Jamila) of Lewisburg, and John Talbott of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Heather Gillilan (Jed) of Clintonville, WV; grandchildren, Justin Shephard, Caleb Talbott, Kimber Gillilan, Landon Gillilan, and Aubre Anna Talbott; and a special caretaker, Angie Brammer, thank you for all you did for our brother, dad, and grandad.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at the Graystone Baptist Church, with Pastor Youel Altizer officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, at the church.
