Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw (R-Clay, 33rd) took the floor to address events Friday, March 1, that sparked outrage and resulting in both the resignation of Anne Liberman, House sergeant-at-arms, and reported injury to a House staff member.
The Legislature hosted WVGOP Day on Friday in front of the House chember, with members of the Republican party turning out in support of their representatives and platforms, both in thestate and nationaly. One stand, however, presented anti-Muslim propaganda which included remarks specifically directed at Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), one of the first two Muslim Congresswomen ever elected.
