RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – Summer in Ronceverte is somewhere you‘ll want to be. The Food Truck Festival, the River Festival, the new Splash Pad, and soon a mini-golf/frisbee golf park are among the favorite events of Greenbrier County Residents. Also, Ronceverte is set to open its farmers market on May 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. (weather permitting), known as the Ronceverte Community Market. Each Friday evening, anyone in the area will find Edgar Avenue overflowing with local goodness proudly offered by local farmers, bakers, artisans and others.

Farmers and artisans from around the area will set up to bring you baked goods, jewelry, woodturning, flowers, veggies and much more. Approximately 30 vendors are already in the books for this charming farmer’s market.

Although the vendor application period has ended, you can still get in on the action by messaging the Market’s Facebook page to express interest. The costs are as follows: $25 for the entire season of approximately 22 markets or $5 per week.Vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, tents, etc. Things happen, so it’s good to be on deck if you’re interested but missed the deadline.

SNAP (EBT) benefits will be accepted at the market this year by some of the vendors. Per the Market’s Facebook page, “We would like to introduce you to our new VEGGIE CLUB!! Through a gracious community grant we will be able to allow children to earn $$VEGGIE DOLLARS$$ to spend at the market on fresh fruits and produce. They will have to ‘EARN’their dollars through fun activities hosted by the Ronceverte Public Library. These activities will allow our little ones to see, touch and taste fruits and vegetables that they may not otherwise have an opportunity to experience. We are so fortunate to be able to offer this opportunity to the community!! Would you or your business like to help support this worthy cause? We are currently accepting donations to help us add more veggie dollars. Anyone donating $25 or more will be added to our list of market sponsors and donations will be tax deductible.”

The Ronceverte Public Library will have a table at the market for questions, concerns, donations, etc.

Want more information? Send an email toroncevertecommunitymarket@gmail.com or send a check made out to Ronceverte Community Market to P. O. Box 417, Ronceverte, WV, 24970.
