RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – After a passerby noticed a structure fire, emergency services responded and quickly extinguished the flames. At the time of the call, responders did not know whether or not anyone was inside the building. The Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department released the following statement:
“At 7:10 Feb 7, Ronceverte VFD was toned for a structure fire on Seneca trail South reported by a passerby. Engine 4001 was enroute within 5 minutes followed by Tanker 4004 and Engine 4003. It was unsure if [the] structure was occupied and engine 4001 requested manpower and tankers from Fairlea VFD, Lewisburg FD, and Union VFD. Once units arrived the structure was found to be unoccupied. An interior attack was done and had the bulk of [the] fire knocked out quickly. Units remained on scene for 3 hours doing overhaul and extinguishing all hotspots. No injuries were reported.
