BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVDN) – Get ready to spike, serve, and score for a cause at the “Volleyball 4 Autism” event put on by the Social Behavioral Sciences department at New River Community and Technical College. The event will take place on April 20, at the Memorial Baptist Church Gymnasium in Beckley, West Virginia.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024
  • Time: 9 a.m.
  • Location: Memorial Baptist Church Gymnasium 1405 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, WV 25801

The goal of “Volleyball 4 Autism” is to raise awareness and funds for vital autism research through the organization SPARKforautism. New River CTC aims to unite players of all skill levels, from seasoned competitors to those looking to enjoy a fun-filled Saturday, all while supporting a noble cause.

The event features two divisions – one for advanced players who compete regularly and another for beginners seeking a lighthearted Saturday game. Teams are encouraged to pre-register by emailing Volleyball4autism@gmail.com, where a registration form will be sent to the team captain.

Teams pay $100 to register a team of 8, or $150 to register at the door. Teams should be co-ed, with the same number of females as males in the floor. An all-female team is permitted, and a team with more than 3 members who play regularly, will need to play in the upper division. Admission for the event is $2 per person.

Pre-registration is open until April 13, providing teams ample time to secure their spot in this exciting event. The event also welcomes T-shirt vendors at $100 each and appreciates donations for a silent auction and door prizes.

If you are interested in registering a team or in donating, please contact:

Kelli White: 304-929-5010 or 304-923-1235

Skyler Green: 304-890-6535
