Mrs. Shirley Dale Parker, 75, of Covington, VA, died Thursday, May 10, 2018, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor, VA.
Mrs. Parker was born April 5, 1943, in Wolf Creek, WV, the daughter of Raymond Leo Wilson Sr. and Helen Marie Bowyer Wilson. She was the wife of James H. Parker Sr.
During her working career, she was employed as a certified nursing assistant.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond L. “Bob” Wilson Jr.; children and their spouses, Donna Lewis (Hilton), Diana Perkins (Kent), James Parker Jr. (Linda), Julie Atkins (Keith), and Edie Lane and friend, Jesus Valencia-Palomec; grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas (Jackie), Jennifer Higdon, James Lewis, Josh Lewis (Samantha), Jonathan Preston, Candon Humphries (Tad), Grace Parker and fiancé, Hayden Woodward, Jared Higdon and fiancée, Shawna Stevens, Anna Preston and friend, Ben Haynes, Amber Parker, Marlee Parker and friend, Koty Wolfe, PV 2 James Michael Parker, Jessica Atkins; great-grandchildren, Amara Higdon, Landon Kessler, Mercades Stevens, Edison Thomas, and three expected great-grandchildren, Baby Lewis, Baby Humphries and Baby Higdon; adopted grandchildren, Ashley Cutlip and CJ Perkins; brother-in-law, Ward Parker (Causby); numerous nieces and nephews; and special great-grand-dog, Parker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Wiseman and Pastor Frank Sizemore Jr. officiating.
