WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – The White Sulphur Springs Shared Ministry shared highlights from its last quarter of 2023. The information is as follows:
“In October, Emmanuel UMC and Eakle Chapel joined together for a community project that was youth-driven. The Schoolhouse Hotel hosted the walk-through of all WSS Elementary students during the annual Halloween Parade. Many of us have memories of participating in the parade as children and/or our children anxiously anticipating the walk-through of White Sulphur Springs dressed in costume for Halloween. Both congregations had individuals who donated the candy and some ladies donned Halloween attire to distribute the goods! Praise be to God for the relationships between EUMC, Eakle Chapel, and our community.
“On Dec. 11, 2023, the EUMC Women in Faith hosted the monthly birthday party at the White Sulphur Springs Nursing Center. This mission project is something that, under the leadership of Barbara Wooding, the ladies have done for many years. It really is a tradition with the group! This year they provided a gift bag for five women and three men. Each bag included some nice socks, personal items, and a large print puzzle book. There was also a beautiful birthday cake baked and decorated at the local grocery store that celebrated the December residents. The group values the community connections that are shared in White Sulphur Springs! The small group is large in work as they coordinate funeral meals, give to statewide mission projects, and support local works annually.
“Both Eakle Chapel and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches welcome anyone who is looking for a church to visit on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. respectively.”
