LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The West Virginia Daily News is helping to feed the community this holiday season with its annual canned food drive.
During November, The West Virginia Daily News will be accepting nonperishable food products at the office, with a goal of 2,000 items to be delivered to local food pantries across Greenbrier County.
I recently spoke to a local food pantry representative who told me the need is greater than ever. It’s getting harder for families to buy food. There isn’t enough money to pay bills and buy groceries. When you donate to your local food pantry, you are directly helping your neighbors who may be facing difficulties. Your generosity will provide families, children and seniors with food insecurities and nourishing meals.
Please consider donating to The West Virginia Daily News canned food drive. We will take care of getting your donation to the food pantries in your community.
I am also excited to announce that the Ronceverte Baptist Church BYF group will again collect canned food items for the drive this year. Please, drop off your nonperishable food items at 188 Foster Street in Lewisburg between now and November 30. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
