LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Downtown Lewisburg celebrates the fall harvest and Halloween from Oct. 10 through 31 with beautiful decorations; fantastic foods; serious and silly photo ops; contests and prizes for kids and fur babies; fascinating exhibits involving body parts, mourning, and mucous; creative classes in pottery, broom-making, slime and dioramas; and a variety of shows.
Chrysanthemums, crotons, pumpkins, haybales, corn shocks, gourds and ribbons adorn the city’s east-west corridor. Prominently featured in the entertainment for observers is an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus, a hauntingly spectacular magic show, a theatrical presentation of Frankenstein and a lecture and book signing about the Greenbrier Ghost. Arranged for those who take their fun on foot is a historical cemetery tour, pub crawl/ghost story walk and 5K Creepy Crawl. If food is your passion, experience the Taste of Our Town festival, a pumpkin cooking contest or Appalachian funeral foods.
Hosts have pulled out all the stops for three weeks of Harvest Chills in the Hills. Find the complete calendar on the Facebook Event page under Discussion.
