Henrietta Ann Weakley-Green, 67, of Frankford, WV, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
She was born December 17, 1949, in Madison, WV, to Edgar and Kathleen Martin into a very large family; she was ninth born of 11 siblings.
Anne enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and was active in the Frankford Ruritan Club, where she would help make 500 pints of apple butter from scratch every year in September. Additionally, she loved to entertain and prepare many dishes fresh from her garden. One of her most treasured pastimes was traveling. In her short life, she traveled often to the western United States, where she particularly loved the deserts of Arizona and the mountains of Colorado. She traveled to two other continents: Africa, where she participated in a two-week safari, and Europe, where she visited her son and his family when he lived in Italy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five of her siblings, Alice, Carl, Clara, Joe, and Loretta.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Green; sisters, Barbara and Mildred; brothers, Jack, Franklin, and William; and son, Jerry Weakley Jr. and wife, Michelle, with grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, and Jaxon.
Instead of funeral and interment services, Ann will be cremated, and a celebration of life event will be held at the family’s Greenbrier River house in Caldwell, WV, in the spring of 2018.
In memoriam, it is requested that memoriam contributions be made to the Frankford Ruritan Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 98, Frankford, WV 24983.
McCraw Funeral Home in Frankford is in charge of arrangements.
