Christene Thompson Forren, 81, of Fort Spring, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017, at her residence surrounded by family after a short illness.
She was born August 23, 1936, in Stollings, Logan County, WV, and was a daughter of Ernest Halford and Minnie Katherine Kinser Thompson.
Christene was a member of the Alderson Baptist Church in Alderson, WV, and was retired from BFGoodrich (UTC) Aerospace Industry of Union, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Basil W. Forren on March 29, 1985; brothers, Hershel and Eugene Thompson; sister, Opal Fisher; and a great-grandson, Hoss Lee David Forren.
Survivors include her sons, Basil W. Forren Jr. and wife, Linda, of Lewisburg, WV, and Jeffery Forren and wife, Holly, of Alderson; daughter, Patricia Jenkins and companion, T.J. Gladwell, of Lewisburg; sisters, Florence Forren of Roanoke, VA, and Hattie Louella Magoon of Arizona; grandchildren, Michael Jenkins, Jason Jenkins, Jeffery David Forren, Heather Hanna, Leslie Baker, and Marcus Forren; 13 great-grandchildren; friends; Pastor Harry Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 1 PM at Graystone Baptist Church in Ronceverte, WV, with Pastor George Clarkson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Sinks Grove, WV.
A visitation was held Monday, September 4, from 6-9 PM at Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson.
