Eleanor Clayton Persinger, dear meek, 97, of Roanoke, VA, and Clayton, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Born May 5, 1920, at Talcott, WV, she was a daughter of Julius Earl and Amanda Cleo Young Keatley.
Eleanor was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Persinger; and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy E. Blankenship and husband, Ron, of Roanoke, and Drese E. Smith and husband, Don, of Clayton; sons, Steve Bremer and the late Betty Ann of Pembroke, VA, Gary L. Bremer and wife, Tina, of Hinton, WV, Eric U. Persinger of Alderson, WV, and Leslie H.
Persinger and wife, Reginia, of Pence Springs, WV; one sister, Patty A. Huston and husband, Bob, of Pittsboro, NC; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Clayton Missionary Baptist Church in Clayton with Pastors Roger Persinger and Grant Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will take place at the church from 1 PM until time of the service at 2 PM.
