Larry Ray “Bubby” Whitt, 65, of Alderson, WV died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
Born August 27, 1951, in Boone County, WV, he was a son of James and Nadine Brown Whitt.
Mr. Whitt was a retired construction worker. He was an avid Beatles fan, and he loved Miami Dolphins football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Richard Whitt and Jerry Lee Whitt; two sisters, Penny Marie and Alice Sue Whitt; a nephew, James “Round Baby” Workman; and a brother-in-law, Delano Carter.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Foxworthy and husband, Brad, of St. Petersburg, FL; two sons, Larry Whitt Jr. and James “Bubba” Whitt, both of Alderson; four grandchildren, Austin Whitt, Elizabeth Foxworthy, Alexis Utz, and Kara Lee Whitt; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, and Zoey Watson; three brothers, Gary Whitt and wife, Margie, of Houston, TX, Charles Whitt and wife, Shelia, of Atlanta, MI, and Ronnie Whitt of Alderson; seven sisters, Martha Linville and husband, Randy, of Van, WV, Wanda Workman and husband, Larry, of Cleveland, OH, Mary “Ougie” Workman and husband, Lester, of Van, Beverly Ballengee and husband, Tim, of Alderson, Faye Carter, Bobbie Kincaid, and Christine Adkins, all of Alderson; many nieces, nephews, and friends, and a special companion, his dog, Teddy.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, WV, with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Atkins Family Cemetery at Flat Mt.
Friends may call from 1 PM until time of the services on Friday at the funeral parlor.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Roger Atkins, Josh Ballengee, J.R. Stanley, Jason Stanley, Bobby Dolin, Tim Ballengee, Jeremy Overstreet, Doug Crawford, and Mike Harvey.
