AKERS
Connie Sue Akers, age 53, of Welch, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2023, at her home.
Born on August 19, 1969, at Ronceverte, she was the daughter of Barbara Wykle Bostic and Burless Bostic of Maxwelton, WV, and her biological father, the late Milton Brown.
Connie was a homemaker and pastor’s wife to Bishop Timothy Akers. They served together at the Church of God at Welch. She enjoyed worshipping and praising God, flower gardening, canning, and interior decorating.
In addition to her biological father, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Mary Brown, Zernie and Bessie Wykle, Lucille Wykle, Jesse and Naoma Bostic.
She was also preceded in death by an infant child, Josiah Timothy Akers, on August 24, 2022.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Bishop Timothy Akers; parents, Burless and Barbara Bostic of Maxwelton; a sister, Karen Erskine and husband, Jeff, of Ronceverte, and their children, Madison Erskine and wife, Alyssa, of Lewisburg, and Lindsey Kessinger and husband, Kendall, of Covington, VA; a brother, Jeffrey Bostic and wife, Minda, of Flatwoods, KY, and their children, Dylan and Joy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and all of Akers Family.
Several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins also survive. Connie leaves behind special friends, Caitlin Hassan, Shianne Bailey, Elisabeth Callendar, and Blake Iafolla.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Beckley Church of God on Monday, February 13, 2023, at noon with Eulogy by her husband, Bishop Timothy Akers, with comments by Missionary/ Evangelist Aldetta Akers, and message by State Administrator Bishop David Jarvis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Harold Patterson, Cecil Patterson, Rev. Ron Felts, Rev. Jeremy Compton, Billy Conley, Randolph Scott, Jeffrey Bostic, Dylan Bostic, and Madison Erskine. Honorary Pallbearer will be Blake Iafolla. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
