CHARLESTON (WVDN) – The University of Charleston has just unveiled yet another way it is helping students make higher education more affordable.
UC has been helping students graduate faster and launch careers more quickly for years, through fast track and direct pathway options. Starting in the fall of 2023, UC is adding an accelerated 3+1 BS/MBA program that enables students to earn both a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Master of Business Administration in the time and cost it would traditionally take to complete just an undergraduate degree.
“In addition to providing the opportunity for students to move into their careers faster, the UC accelerated 3+1 BS/MBA program differentiates them as high achievers to potential employers,” stated UC President Marty Roth. “Students will get an exceptional return on their educational investment as well as significant savings compared to the standard five or six-year BS/MBA option. The combination of deep business knowledge and applied experiential learning will prepare these students for great success.”
Through the accelerated 3+1 BS/MBA program, students complete their undergraduate business degree in three years then transition into the MBA program for their final three semesters. Students can pursue any of 10 undergraduate majors, and any of three MBA concentrations. Each student will also complete at least two internships and engage in professional development programs designed to help them build a robust network as they enter the job market.
“At the University of Charleston, we are always looking for innovative ways to help our students achieve their goals and be successful,” Roth continued. “We recognize the cost of higher education can be a barrier, and we are constantly identifying new ways to ensure students have access to high quality education.”
Qualified students enroll in the program in the fall of their freshman year. They become part of a learning community with other students in the program and have a dedicated advisor to support them throughout the completion of both degrees. Students qualify for both undergraduate and graduate scholarships.
