CHARMCO (WVDN) – Greenbrier West won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 76-50 win over the Tyler Consolidated Knights on Saturday. Dale Boone led all scorers with 24 points. Boone knocked down three 3-pointers and shot a sizzling 9-10 from the foul line.
Michael Kanode and Tanner Hagy carried the Cavaliers in the first quarter with both players knocking down two baskets, respectively. For the Knights, Hayden Brown had 4 first-quarter points. Conner Bailey knocked down a 3 for Tyler Consolidated.
Greenbrier West created some separation in the second quarter, outscoring the Knights 24-8. Boone, Hagy, Matthew Thomas and Braydon McClung each made a 3 in the period. Boone led the Cavaliers with 7 points to go with 5 from McClung. Garon Broughman had 3 points for the Knights.
The Cavaliers pulled away even further in the third quarter, putting up 27 points to Tyler’s 15. Boone continued his torrid pace with 11 points. Boone drilled two 3 and went 5-5 from the foul line in the quarter. Hagy and Thomas each added 4 points. Brody Strode added 6 for Tyler Consolidated.
The fourth quarter saw Chris Davis notch 5 of his 8 points. Damian Dixon also added 5. Boone finished off his big evening with 4 points.
Kanode notched his second double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hagy narrowly missed tying his career-high of 12 points set in the win over Meadow Bridge with 11 in the win.
West improves to 4-7 on the season and faces Wyoming East on Tuesday night. Tyler Consolidated falls to 4-9.
