BECKLEY (WVDN) – In mid-December, personal items of clothing and toiletries were delivered to Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Beckley by Judy Deegans, chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee of the General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Other committee members include Carol Olson and Suzanne Cronquist.
Members of General Andrew Lewis Chapter contributed items of clothing and personal toiletries. They were delivered to Suzette Taylor, director of volunteer services, who was eager to receive the gifts for the veterans. They also service homeless veterans, so blankets and sleeping bags were included in the contribution.
The chapter is proud of the donated items which amounted to over $1,100.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s service organization whose main objectives are historic preservation, education and patriotism.
