Michelle Lee “Shelly” McIntire left here to be with her Father in Heaven September 1, 2016.
Born November 8, 1968, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of George “Sonny” McIntire and Mary Lee McIntire Entsminger.
Shelly was not diagnosed with the genetic condition, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), until age 24. Her childhood and teen years were mostly normal, although she has episodes of illness. She was in Little League, was a junior high cheerleader and a member of the junior high band. She graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1987.
Shelly always knew she was different. When she was diagnosed with CF, she was relieved to know and begin her CF treatments. As she aged, her condition worsened. There is no cure for CF. Please, support and pray for CF research to find a cure.
Shelly grew in her faith, love of God and courage. Her testimony became bolder and stronger. Her impact on others and her inspiration to so many people has been awesome.
While CF impacted her life and her ability to have a career, she loved being a housewife and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the AAIWV and enjoyed being part of the Native American Drum. She also participated in Pow Wows as a jingle dancer.
Shelly was preceded in death by her father, George “Sonny” McIntire.
She is survived by her beloved companion and “hubby” Larry Two-Rivers Brown; mother, Mary Lee McIntire Enstminger; a brother, Michael “Mack” McIntire (Alicia); a sister Sandy McIntire Peters (Robert); her fur babies, a dog Nikeeta, cats Willow and Seleh; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces; and her extended family which includes hundreds of friends that she loved.
“We cannot express how blessed and proud we have been to be her family and to share her gifts, her faith and her courage with others.”
A celebration of life will be held today, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 2 PM at the Bethesda Church in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Jeremy Toler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg.
The family received friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, September 5, 2016, at the church.
