Donald Price Grogg, 82, of Arbovale, WV, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, peacefully at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.
Born June 29, 1934, in Green Bank, WV, he was a son of Forrest Ernest Grogg and Flora Mae Sheets Grogg.
He was a proud member of the United States Army where he served from February 1957 to February of 1959. Donald was also a member of the Lions Club in Durbin, WV. Among his list of accomplishments is his occupation as a truck driver for Interstate Hardwoods, Bill Hartman and Chris Alt.
Other than his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Foster, Dorotha Schrader, Betty Ware and Carrie Grogg; brothers, Forrest, Guy, Emil, Marvin, Merle, Jimmy and Charles Grogg.
Donald is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Grogg of Ronceverte, WV; daughters, Phyllis Buel and husband, James, of Stafford, VA, Pamela VanReenen, of Asbury, WV; sons David Grogg and wife, Denine, of Stafford, Timothy Grogg and wife, Virginia, of Henderson, NV; a sister, Ruth Ann Mullenax, of Arbovale; a brother, Ray Grogg, of Arbovale; grandchildren, Cathy, Jessica, Carrie, Jimmy, Steve, Tyler, Trace, Melissa, Chris, James, Joshua, Dustin, Cody, Rachel and Joey; great-grandchildren, Justin, Cierra, J.D., Elijah, Olivia, Mikayla, Roland, Rilynn, Grayson, Chance, Sophia and Jayson.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 4, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale, with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse and Pastor David Collins officiating. Burial followed at the Arbovale Cemetery with military honors by the Pocahontas County Honor Guard.
The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday, September 3.
