At the entrance to the disaster relief center of Emmanuel United Methodist Church (UMC) in White Sulphur Springs, and other locations throughout the flood-affected regions of the Greenbrier Valley, stands a warm, snuggly and comforting sight – a therapy dog. The HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response organization has brought specially trained dogs into the area “to provide comfort and encouragement through animal-assisted support to individuals affected by crisis and disasters.”
