William Maxwell Cox, 74, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.
He was born December 10, 1941, at Elkins, WV, a son of the late George “Max” and Mildred Mae Yeager Cox.
Mr. Cox was a member and former deacon at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs and was a retired maintenance worker for Westvaco and a member of Local #675 CPU Covington Paperworkers Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Grace Ervin Cox; a daughter, Gina Cavender and husband, Jim, of Georgetown, KY; a son, Michael Cox and wife, Karen, of St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren, Jenifer Cavender, Nicholas Cavender, Makenzie Cox, Alexandra Cox, Shannon Collins, and Steven Wright; one sister, Janet S. Varner and husband, Jacky Varner Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 11 AM on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Arbovale Cemetery with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating.
Friends called from 6-8 PM on Sunday, July 3 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV.
