MYRTLE BEACH- Five errors from Greenbrier East proved costly to their winning chances on Wednesday, March 27 as they lost what was basically a battle of pitchers by a score of 3-0 to the Robinson Rams in their final game in the Myrtle Beach Tournament.
Lily Carola pitched a great game for East (7-3) and allowed just two hits in six innings, three unearned runs, and finished with 9 strikeouts.
Robinson got a run in the first, third, and sixth innings even though they totaled just two hits as a team the entire game. All their runs were the result of Spartan fielding miscues.
The Spartans had just four hits on the day, themselves. Alanis McClary, Taylor Boswell, Aly Martin, and Reagan Cline all had one apiece.
Amanda Habstritt was the winning pitcher for Robinson. She had 4 strikeouts in her complete game, shutout performance.
East split their four games in South Carolina with a 2-2 record.
The Spartans will hit the field this Saturday when they head to Herbert Hoover.
