Date Loudermilk of Ronceverte, WV, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
Born July 27, 1949, he was the son of Martha and Alfred Loudermilk of Frankford, WV.
He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, Date worked construction until he retired in 2010.
Date was loved by so many for his generosity, sense of humor, courage, but most of all for the love he had for his family. He enjoyed antique cars, farming, fishing, and watching various sports activities in Ronceverte and at Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Kenny, Harold, Harvey, and Lacy; and half brother, Dennie.
He was the brother of Hilda Yates, Dessie Workman, Wanda “Doll” Sheppard, Eddie and wife, Jenny, Estil and wife, Janet, Fanny Sturgil and Lewis. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 19 years, Donna; stepsons, Matthew Hayes of Ronceverte and Mark Hayes and wife, Robin, of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren, Lane, Landon, and Logan of Ronceverte and Lauren and Allison of Ashburn; and special extended grandchildren, Liam Baker, Judson and Riley Boone, and Connor “Mud Duck” Loudermilk.
The family will receive guests on Friday, June 3, 2016, from 6-8 PM at McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, June 4, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rosewood Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Tommy Yates, Tink’s Loudermilk, John Loudermilk, Bruce Loudermilk,
Charles Loudermilk Jr., Jerry Loudermilk, Eric Loudermilk, and Dana Sheppard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Veera Palli and his oncology team and Peyton Hospice House for the wonderful care and support they provided Date and the family during his treatment.
