Michael Edward Cornwell, 53, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Born June 5, 1962, in Ronceverte, WV, he was a son of Edward Lee and Sandra Dosier Cornwell of White Sulphur Springs.
Michael was a U.S. veteran. After graduating, he was employed by Westvaco in Covington, VA, for 25 years. He was an artist, a leather worker, and loved to gunsmith and hunt.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Mitchell Cornwell; paternal grandparents, Ira and Flossie Cornwell; and maternal grandparents, Clara and Wesley Dosier.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Shelia, at home; four sons, Daric Bennett of Charlottesville, VA, and Ben, Sam, and Isaac Cornwell, all at home; four daughters, Haley Cornwell of Texas, Autumn Larue and Amber Larue of Lewisburg, WV, and Josie Hardy of Gap Mills, WV; and two grandchildren, Jeremiah Marshall and Davonna Larue.
His memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 1 PM in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with Andrew Cecil officiating. Interment will be at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Shanklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
