Orice D. “Buck” Thompson Jr., 73, of Union, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016, after a short illness.
Born November 11, 1942, at Talcott, WV, he was the son of Orice D. and Gladys Knapp Thompson Sr.
He was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Union. He was an avid hunter throughout his life and had a passion for classic and modified vehicles, as well as motorcycles. He served in the Army Reserves and worked as a mechanic and service manager for the Ford garage in Union.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Fran Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy; daughter, Beth A. Wickline and husband, Brian; beloved granddaughter, Katie Wickline; brothers, Bernard, Leonard, and Buster Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 1 PM at the Union United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Naglie officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Union.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, from 6-8 PM at the McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV.
