“Here is my secret. It is very simple,” wrote French author Antoine de Saint-Exupery through the mouth of the astute fox to the little prince for whom his book, “Le Petit Prince,” is named. “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” The secret of the fox is no mystery to 14-year-old Braylenn Dowdy. Though born blind, she has proved to possess the kind of sight that sees the less fortunate and considers what she can do to help others.
