Constance Louise Siess, 70, of Caldwell, WV, was cared for in Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV, until her passing on Saturday, March 21, 2015, where she went to be with the Lord after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born March 29, 1944, in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Wilbur and Carolyn Bauer.
She moved to Maryland as a child and grew up there. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1962. After graduation, she worked at the National Institutes of Health (NLH). She worked there for 31 years in the record department and retired to West Virginia with her husband, Tom Siess. Connie was a member of the Red Hats and the American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Clauss; father, Wilbur Bauer; and her two husbands, Grover Sheffield and Thomas Siess.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Clauss May and husband, Stephen, and their children, (nephew) Daryl and (niece) Denise from Maryland; her son, Todd Sheffield and Gina Rose and a granddaughter, CeCe Rose, and great-grandson, Draven Rose, of Ronceverte, WV; her significant other, Perry Dowdy of Caldwell, WV; stepdaughter, Cristina, and husband, Michael O’Quinn, and grandchildren, Abby, Calvin, and Hayden of Peterstown, WV; stepson, Nathan Dowdy, and granddaughter, Taylor Dowdy of Lewisburg, WV.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2015, from 6-8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, at 2 PM at the funeral home in Lewisburg. She will be taken to her final resting place at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, where there will be a few last words spoken.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Peyton Hospice House.
Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
