Stephen E. Hoke, 73, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.
Mr. Hoke was born February 17, 1942, in Covington, VA, the son of the late Dewey Edgar Hoke and Janutia Armentrout Hoke.
He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Stephen was employed as a heavy equipment operator by Cleco before his retirement. He was an avid Harley motorcycle rider and loved to watch boxing and refurbish old cars.
In addition to his wife, Donna Robbins Hoke, he is survived by his children, David Hoke and wife, Amber, Michael Hoke and wife, Stella, Annette Waddell, Kathy Hoke Russ, Cathy Garrett, Pamela Logesden, and husband, Eric, Donna Sergeant and husband, Shaun, Michelle Schmitt and husband, Rodney, and Tiffany Hunneycutt; three stepsons, Anthony Slayton, William Slayton, and Michael Muncy; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday, February 27, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating. Interment will be in Hoke Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made toward the funeral expenses in care of Loving Funeral Home, 350 N. Maple Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
