Velma L. Clevenger, 89, of Renick, WV, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015, at her home.
Born August 21, 1925, at Renick, she was the daughter of the late Austin Mayberry Brown and Dorothy Ann Cochran Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Clevenger Sr.; daughters, Janet Fogus and Mary Ann Robinson; brothers, Edsel “Sonny” Brown and Austin Mayberry Brown Jr.; and sisters, Gerri Hightower and Minnie Lewis.
Survivors include her children, Austin Clevenger (Sharon) of Renick, Gloria Morrison (Jim) of Frankford, WV, Betty Morrison (Roger) of Droop, WV, George Clevenger (Sharon) of Six Miles, SC, Shorty Clevenger of Renick, Christina Lewis (Jimmy) of Frankford, Rose Poole (Tom) of Greenbrier, AR, Larry Clevenger (Melissa) of Lewisburg, WV, Gary Clevenger (Carolyn) of Frankford, and Toneshia Wise and Latonya Wise, both of Renick; sisters, Gladys Hefner (Jim) of Renick and Mary Altizer of Frankford; brother, Edward “Ike” Brown (Judy) of Yadkinville, NC; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and was looking forward to three more in the near future; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many others that she considered her own.
Services are slated for Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 11 AM at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Elder Roger Alder officiating. Burial will follow in the Morningside Cemetery at Renick.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 10, at the funeral home.
