Leo Richard “Red” McCoy, 77, of Droop Mountain, WV, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the White Sulphur Springs Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Born April 14, 1937, at Droop, he was the son of the late Lanty and Genevieve Vaughn McCoy.
Red was a retired truck driver, avid hunter, and gun collector. He loved going to shooting matches and gathering with friends for a friendly game of poker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Workman McCoy; sons, Tommy and Bill McCoy; a sister, Betty Black; and brothers, Thomas, Harry, and William McCoy.
Red is survived by his daughter, Teresa Hodge (Jason) of Frankford, WV; his son, Ricky McCoy of Dunbar, WV; two sisters, Judy Cutlip (Roland) of Hillsboro, WV, and Garnett Sharp (Tom) of Marlinton, WV; grandchildren, Tracy, Mitch, and L.T. McCoy, Amanda McCoy, Courtney Gillilan, and Crystal, Tiffany, and Jarod Hodge; great-grandchildren, Jesse McCoy, Ja McCoy, and Taylee Morgan; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services will be conducted at 7 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with the Rev. Michael Neel officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
