Lonnie Thomas Campbell, 70, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015, from a fall out of a tree.
Born October 30, 1944, he was a son of the late Joe and Frances Campbell.
Lonnie was a member of the Wild Meadow Baptist Church and a retired military veteran of Vietnam. Before retiring, he worked for the WV Department of Transportation.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jean Stull Campbell; a brother, Joseph Campbell; and a nephew, Justin Baker.
Surviving are five sisters, Sarah Louise Clonche and Helen Knighton both of White Sulphur Springs, Geneva Thomas of Fayetteville, WV, Ella Mae Graham (Donald) of Covington, VA, and JoAnn Baker (Leon) of White Sulphur Springs; nephews, Billy Joe Clonche, Donnie Graham, Delmas Graham, and Michael Baker, and two grandnephews, Chase and Jacob; and his beloved cat, Angel.
Funeral services are slated for Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 2 PM at the Wild Meadow Baptist Church, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs, with Pastor Garrett Bostic and the Rev. Lowell O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Mapledale Cemetery, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation will be from 6-9 PM on Monday, January 19, at the church.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Clonche, Donnie Graham, Delmas Graham, Michael Baker, Chuck Clendenen, Wayne Morris, Gregory Hatcher, and Cody O’Dell.
Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is serving the family.
