Mary Edith Kronser, 91, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at her residence following a short illness.
She was born January 14, 1923, at Sinks Grove, WV, and was a daughter of the late Walter Wellington Wilson and the late Glenna Edith Hall Spade. She was also the step daughter of the late Samuel Price Wickline.
Mary was a member of the Union Memorial Baptist Church and the Union Chapter of the Eastern Star and was retired from Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee, WI. She was also one of the original “Rosie the Riveters” and was honored and registered as such in Washington, D.C.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Patterson, Grover Vance, James Reuter, Jesse Hicks and Leroy Kronser. She is also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Vance; grandson, Duane Perkins; and siblings, Lucille Pearl Wickline and husband Wodke, twin siblings, Mildred Blanche Spade, Birdie Irene Spade, Glenna Mae Spade, Roy Lee Wickline, Mashall Eldon Wickline, Lacy Waymon Wickline, William Wellington Wickline, Luther David Spade and Grover Alexander Spade.
Survivors include two daughters, Drema Mankins of Conover, NC, and Donna Jean Perkins and husband Jeffrey D. of Caldwell, WV; grandchildren, Michael L. Egan, Rhonda Vance, Ronald Vance and Amanda Renee Vance; great-grandchildren, Jim Cameron Perkins, Caleb Perkins, Josie Perkins, Grayson Perkins, Jacob Perkins, Katie Perkins, Jasmine Perkins and Jessie Perkins; several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Emerson Wickline and Oather Raymond “Bud” Spade, both of West Virginia; and numerous friends.
As per her wishes, her body has been cremated and no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Greenbrier Humane Society.
