Georganna C. Holcomb, 79, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV.

Born October 6, 1935, at Carretta, WV, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Anne R. Roberts Clark.

Mrs. Holcomb was a victim of polio at two years old. Through all her life, she struggled with it and never complained about her condition. Despite her illness, she was able to graduate from high school. She was confined to a bed, wheelchair, and
crutches and could never walk. She is now walking the streets of gold in heaven.

Mrs. Holcomb was of the Baptist faith, loved gospel music, and also loved working crossword puzzles and crocheting. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, other than her parents, was her husband, Donald Lee Holcomb.

Survivors include one daughter, Wanda “Wendy” Kane, and Georganna’s son-in-law, Richard Streck of Callaghan, VA; one son,

Danny Holcomb of White Sulphur Springs; four grandchildren, Daniel, Donnie, and Heather Holcomb, all at home in White Sulphur Springs, and Melanie M. Ferreria of Sacramento, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Austin T. Gribbins and Joshua Ferreria, both of Sacramento.

Her funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs at 2 PM with the Rev. Jonathan Comer officiating.

Interment will be at the Alderson Cemetery in Alderson, WV.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Shanklin Funeral Home is serving the family.
