“When you’re a nurse, you know that every day will touch a life or a life will touch yours.” – Author Unknown

Elizabeth Ann Sullivan Johnson died Monday, September 29, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV.

Ann was the wife of William Richard Johnson III (deceased), gentleman farmer. Ann and Richard lived a farming life in Rich Hollow just outside of Fairlea,WV, most of their married life and then eventually moved to Lewisburg, WV, to retire.

Born May 9, 1937, to Charles F. and Virginia L. Sullivan, Ann was preceded in death, not only by her husband and her parents, but also by a sister, Doris, who was a child living at home, and a brother, Charles Curtis (Betty) of Cibolo, TX.

She is survived by two brothers, Pat Sullivan of Fairlea, and James “Jimmy” Sullivan (Carol) of Fayetteville, WV. She was an aunt to three nephews and three nieces and a grandaunt to three nephews and two nieces.

Ann graduated from Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Huntington, WV. She practiced her profession at the hospital in Ronceverte, then Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, and then served as the director of nursing at the Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.

A Catholic by faith, Ann called St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ronceverte her spiritual home throughout her life. She was faithful and dedicated to her church and participated in many activities associated with the church, one of those being Alter Society. Being all things Irish taught to her by her wonderful parents, Ann especially loved the St. Patrick’s Day dinner.

She will be missed by her family and many friends from her church and the community.

Out of respect and admiration for her love of church and her faith, it is requested that expressions of sympathy be in the form of a donation to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 407 Walnut Street, Ronceverte, WV 24970. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church in Ronceverte with Father Chapin Engler presiding. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Online condolences may be made by visiting www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
