Brucie D. Nelson, 92, of Scott Depot, WV, formerly of Esty, WV, died Thursday, September 25, 2014, after a long illness.
Born February 15, 1922, at Esty, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Vesta Hanna Dixon.
Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, now Lewisburg Baptist, in Lewisburg, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; sisters, Stella McMillion, Maxie Lewis, and Bessie Lewis; and brothers, Grover, Preston, Leonard, Gene, and Estel.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Haggerty (Pat) and Joyce Staats; son, Don Nelson (Rhonda); brother, Elmer Dixon; sisters, Flore Walter and Ada Dixon; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 28, 2014, at 2 PM at the McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Casey Nelson officiating.
Burial followed at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
