Much loved wife and mother, Grace M. Braden, 68, of Alvon, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Carillion Roanoke Hospital, Roanoke, VA.

Born October 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Norville E. and Betty M. Green Allen Sr.

Mrs. Braden attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Lewisburg, WV, loving Jesus very much. She loved praise and worship music, especially “Amazing Grace.” Mrs. Braden was a homemaker and loved to work with her flowers and watch the hummingbirds. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, other than her parents, were one brother, Norville C. “Buck” Allen; and one sister, Marguerite Sue “Cookie” Henson.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Braden, at home; son, Gary Braden Jr. (Melissa) of Talcott, WV; daughter, Christina Braden, at home; and three grandchildren, Corey and Katelyn Braden, both of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Shayla Braden of Talcott.

Her funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 19, 2014, at 11 AM in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating.

Interment will be in Mapledale Cemetery, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 18, at the funeral home.

Shanklin Funeral Home is serving the family.
