Emma Jean Dowdy Cantrell, 79, of Louisville, KY, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Baptist Health.
Born in Lewisburg, WV, she worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and Louisville before retiring from Humana. She attended Southeast Christian Church for many years and was a graduate of Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte, WV.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Dowdy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harvey R. Cantrell; son, Eric Cantrell; mother, Clara Dowdy of Lewisburg; and sisters, Doris West of Lewisburg and Betty Mueller of Fredericksburg, VA.
Funeral services were held in Louisville.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Council on Developmental Disabilities or a charity of choice.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Baptist Health’s nurses, Amanda and Lowell, and Chaplain Julie for their loving care and compassion.
